The department is entirely dedicated to the highest standards of modern anesthesiology.

At Ahalia, the anaesthesia department manages two operating rooms: an obstetric OT and an additional emergency OT. We cater to a range of specialities and super specialities from General Surgery to minimally invasive laparoscopic procedures. The department assesses patient suitability and surgical risks (PAC) and is involved in the anaesthetic care of patients before, during and after surgery.

We have an exclusive post-anaesthesia care unit with comprehensive monitoring facilities. Doctors of the Anaesthesia department are members of the code blue team and also provide resuscitation services in all areas of the hospital. If you are receiving general anaesthesia (being fully asleep) or regional anaesthesia (numbing a specific part of the body, such as an epidural or nerve block), you are continuously monitored by a dedicated physician.
