Dr. Reena Dadlani is a specialist Medical Microbiologist. She has 9 years of experience in the field of Clinical Microbiology, Virology, Immunology, Parasitology, Mycology, and Infectious molecular diagnostics. Her academic background also includes presentations at several conferences and CMEs and she has authored numerous papers in indexed international, peer-reviewed journals
She graduated with an M. D in Medical Microbiology from the Vydehi Institute of Medical Sciences & Research Centre. She has trained in molecular microbiology specializing in molecular diagnostics (infectious disease). Her early career encompassed a teaching position at the prestigious International Medical School, training international undergraduate students in Medical microbiology.
She specialized in Hospital Infection Control and Antibiotic Stewardship by training at the renowned Christian Medical College, Vellore, India. She was later employed by one of the most prominent private hospital chains in India- The Apollo Hospital, as a consultant medical microbiologist and head of the hospital infection control committee. She has close to four years of experience working in the UAE- Employed initially at the reputed ‘Sharjah University Hospital (UHS)’ where she headed the microbiology team as well the hospital infection control committee and molecular diagnostics. She had the opportunity to spearhead the concentrated effort against COVID-19 during the emergence of the pandemic. UHS, being a semi-government organization was inundated in the early days of the pandemic and it provided her with a rare opportunity to be a driving force in initiating and implementing hospital-based policies.
